Rubrics and Annotated Anchor PapersExemplars tasks include a specific rubric that describes what is required to achieve each level of performance and annotated samples of student work for each of the four performance levels: Novice, Apprentice, Practitioner and Expert. These specific descriptions point to the distinctions to look for when using Exemplars Rubrics to assess different levels of student learning and understanding. These guides are also useful in providing a basis for student self-assessment.
