From the Research Desk: Mathematical Problem Solving: Its Effect on Achievement and Attitudes of Elementary School Students

Judy Devens-Seligman is a recent PhD from the Claremont Graduate University and the principal of a Southern California school. She employed Exemplars in her doctoral research, examining the relationship between regular problem solving using Exemplars and student achievement, as well as student and teacher attitudes toward mathematics.

NSTA Recommends Approves Exemplars Science CDs

Exemplars Best of Science K-5 and 6-8 CD-ROMs were recently reviewed by the National Science Teachers Association (NSTA). Both products are included in the digital and print publication NSTA Recommends, which determines the best available supplements for science teaching. Materials are reviewed by "top-flight" teachers and other science educators.

Exemplars Incorporated in NCREST-ISA Partnership

We are pleased to announce that the National Center for Restructuring Education, Schools and Teaching (NCREST) at Teachers College, Columbia University is using Exemplars math material for assessment, instruction and professional development in its project with the Institute for Student Achievement (ISA).
