Meet our Professional Development Instructors: Ellen Szecsy |
Ellen Szecsy
Primary Focus:Mathematics, K-8 BackgroundEllen Szecsy has over 25 years experience teaching in Connecticut, Massachusetts, Ohio and Texas. An experienced educator in kindergarten through eighth grade, she earned her Master's Degree in technology/math education. Currently, Ellen is an elementary mathematics instructional specialist in the large North East Independent School District in San Antonio, Texas. She works with teachers supporting their efforts to implement mathematics curriculum reform in standards-based classrooms. Her work with teachers emphasizes creating a learning environment where important pedagogy and assessments are developed and implemented for all students. In addition to her district duties, Ellen is an adjunct professor, teaching math and science integration at local universities in the greater San Antonio region. Ellen also presents on the topics of instructional strategies and best practices. |
